What to Expect
On day 1 to our office, you can expect to be greeted by the front desk and given a set of forms to complete. For your convenience, you can also download and print the forms off from our website and complete them before your appointment. The forms give us general information about you, your health, and your reason for seeking care.
After completing the paperwork and checking back in with the front desk you will have a consultation with either Dr. Josh or Dr. Mallory. During this consultation, you will discuss if chiropractic care is a good fit for you and if it can help you reach your goals.
After the initial consultation, the doctor will perform a case history and a thorough chiropractic exam specific to your condition and health history. Each portion of the exam will be explained and any questions you have will be answered by the doctor.
Depending on your past health history and your current condition, x-ray studies may be required in order to fully evaluate your situation. Following the x-rays, the Doctor will review the images and the findings from your exam to create recommendations specific to you. These recommendations will be given in your Report of Findings either that same day or at your next appointment. Furthermore, the Report of Findings allow you and the doctor to discuss the findings from your examination and x-rays and answer the most popular questions:
Can you help me?
What do you recommend for treatment?
How long will it take?
How much will it cost?
The doctor will also answer any questions you have about chiropractic, the treatment and your condition.
Generally, you will receive your first treatment at the end of your appointment. Each treatment and its benefits will be explained to you.
Many times the doctor will give you home care instructions before you leave. Instructions may include certain exercises, stretches, use of ice or heat packs, what positions/activities to avoid, etc. These instructions are meant to help enhance your care and aid in recovery and healing. Home care allows you to take an active role in your care and those who take an active role tend to see progress quicker.
