What to Expect

On your first visit to our office you will be greeted by the front desk and given a set of forms to complete (or for your convenience, we have them online here). For your convenience, you can download and print the forms off from our website and complete them before your appointment. These forms give us general information about you and your health goals.
After completing the paperwork and checking in at our front desk you will have a consultation with either Dr. Josh. During this consultation, you will discuss your health related problems, concerns, goals, expectations and possible treatment options. In this initial consultation the doctor will be able to see if chiropractic care can help you reach your goals.
After the consultation and reviewing and past health history the doctor will perform chiropractic, orthopedic and neurological examinations specific to your condition and health history. Each portion of the exam will be explained and any questions you have will be answered by the doctor.
Depending on your past health history and your current condition, x-ray studies may be required in order to fully evaluate your situation. We have an on-site x-ray machine so the studies can be performed after your examination. Following the x-rays, the Doctor will review the findings from your examination and x-rays. Depending on your situation, a Report of Findings will be given either that same day or at your next appointment. The Report of Findings allows you and the doctor to discuss the findings from your examination and x-rays. During this report your doctor will answer the most popular questions of:
Can you help me? What do you recommend for treatment?
How long will it take? How much will it cost?
The doctor will also answer any questions you have about chiropractic, the treatment and your condition.
Generally, you will receive you first treatment at the end of your appointment. This treatment may include physiotherapy, soft tissue work, and an adjustment. Each treatment and its benefits will be explained to you.
Many times the doctor will give you home instructions before you leave. These may include certain exercises, stretches, use of ice or heat packs, what positions/activities to avoid etc. These instructions are meant to help enhance your care and help your body to recover even faster. If you choose the doctor can also develop a wellness program for you follow that will help you lead a healthy lifestyle. An overall healthy lifestyle includes maintaining a healthy spine, healthy diet, healthy exercise program, along with stress relief techniques.
